1981- Styles and Smiles

It is hard to believe that those same chalk marks on the wall behind them are still there.
Fashion of a bookworm: styles changed so much in twenty some years.
Watauga sweatshirts, though undoubtedly different, are still worn today with just as much pride.
Spirit week has been crazy for longer than we've been around. The homecoming parade was so big way back when.
This looks like it could have been taken yesterday.

Conductor of the band. This is very serious business.
The look is unique.
The softball team. Too good to play outside? I noticed that
most of the practicing occurred in the gym.

Watauga High's chorus. It is interesting to see this old piano
there aren't too many of those anymore.

Its funny how things change. This store no
longer exists in Blowing Rock.

Watauga's men basketball team. I find their short
shorts and tall socks very interesting.

In the school's main lobby. Students are making a banner.
Notice the construction in the background; the progress to
make it what it looks like today.
Lunch time. Cafeteria still looks the same
and probably the same old lunch too. :-)
School library. Notice how different the environment
is, equipped with the couches.
Coach Breitenstein back in the day.
Look at those glasses.
Who shall win this costume contest?
Witches and plaid shirts, you know this has to be the 80's.
